Your prized possessions might be gone, but perhaps not forever.

Step into Hillingdon Police’s Aladdin’s Cave for the latest attempt to reunite victims of crime with their property.

On Saturday, the police will stage the second roadshow of lifted laptops, mugged mobiles and swiped silverware in the Middlesex Suite at Hillingdon Civic Centre, in Uxbridge High Street.

From 10am to 3pm, anyone who has lost possessions as a result of crime can turn up and browse the tables of loot, and if they spot something they think belongs to them, they can make a claim.

If the first Aladdin’s Cave back in February (pictured) is anything to go by, it will be packed out and produce a few surprises, such as the postage stamps bearing the image of Adolf Hitler that had been taken in a burglary.

On the day, representatives of Hillingdon Council, the Police Community Safety Partnership, Victim Support, Age Concern Hillingdon and Hillingdon Residents Against Crime will be there to offer advice and support.

Hillingdon Borough Commander, Steve Kershaw, said: “Everything that is going to be on display at the Aladdin’s Cave belongs to someone and it is important that as police we do everything we can to reunite the property with its lawful owner.

“We hope that this will give the opportunity for rightful owners to be reunited with their lost or stolen goods.”
