It's a shame I don't live in John McDonnell's constituency - a vote for him would be a no-brainer regarding the third runway for me.
The next election promises to be a real hot potato with the Heathrow project and no doubt Gordon Brown would be green with envy if, as Greenpeace asserts, areas around the London airport turn blue now the go-ahead has been given.
The proposed third runway would further consolidate our standing in Europe, but the trouble is, we can't even trouble the Eurovision song event of late, so I believe charity begins at home and we need to focus on securing jobs and sourcing new work and local opportunity projects.
If the 'wild violet wood' which Mr McDonnell refers to does vanish in time, make it into a sports/activity centre so those few youngsters who turn the town centres into 'wild west hood' of a weekend will have a diversion from their dubious antics.
