Regarding Roy Wicks's letter. I was not questioning Carlene Bowen's 'right' to have an opinion.
Indeed, I can assure Mr Wicks that my dear wife often has her own opinions.
Being married to me doesn't stop her.
I am delighted that Mr Wicks recognises that his neighbour is a 'wife and proud mother', but Mr Wicks has omitted to mention that Councillor Bowen's wife is the long-serving (council salaried) political adviser to Hounslow's Conservative Group.
And as an established member of staff at Hounslow Council, Mrs Bowen enjoys the benefits of an equal opportunities protocol that not everyone in our society - or in our diverse borough - is fortunate enough to have.
The questions that I put forward through this column regarding the importance of considering demography, diversity, and equal opportunities in the consultation process regarding the expansion plans for Heathrow Airport have gone unanswered.
Editor's note: Thank you all for your letters on this subject, but no more will be printed.
