A moped rider suffered serious leg injuries in a crash in Harefield.

The London Air Ambulance was called to the junction of Harvil Road and Moorhall Road on the southern edge of the village at 2pm after reports of a collision involving a vehicle and the moped.

A man aged 21 suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the smash and was taken by road to a central London hospital, said London Ambulance Service, whose staff treated the man at the scene for an injured hip.

Harvil Road was closed at the junction with New Year’s Green Lane to the south.

Firefighters were on scene for about 30 minutes assisting in the cleanup and swilling away spilled petrol.

Police have now confirmed (Wednesday, November 26) that the vehicle that was in collision with the moped was a Mitsubishi 'pick up' type truck.
