I would like to commend the excellent staff in the A & E and CCU departments at Hillingdon Hospital who recently saved my 81-year-old mother's life.
We took her to hospital on September 13 when we could not get through to NHS Direct on the telephone.
Had it not been for the skills of the nurses and doctors, my mother would no longer be with us.
Her heart went haywire and it took all the skills and expertise of the many doctors and nurses as they battled for hours to save her life.
As well as their own knowledge, they also sought advice from Harefield Hospital.
When they finally stabilised her they could find no intensive care bed at either Hillingdon or other local hospitals and finally had to send her to St Thomas's Hospital where she is receiving excellent treatment.
Hillingdon may struggle to gain a high star rating, but in my opinion every one of the people working in these departments are stars and myself and my family are grateful to all of them.
