A FORMER special constable from Acton has been jailed for four and a half years for sex attacks on under age girls.

Kevin McLean, 30, indecently assaulted two 14 year-old girls and took pornographic photos of one of them as well as a girl of 16.

One of the assaults took place outside Hillingdon Civic Centre, Uxbridge and the other outside a church in Ealing.

He admitted misusing police computers to look up details of sex crimes but denied the sex attacks.

McLean had been a special constable based at Heathrow and he confessed to using the Met's computer system 120 times to look up pictures of sex crimes involving young girls.

DI Kevin Hyland of the clubs and vice unit, said: "Kevin McLean was a dangerous and predatory paedophile who cynically abused his position as a member of the Metropolitan Police Service to gain the trust and friendship of young and vulnerable girls.

"There is little doubt that he would have continued to do so were it not for the tenacity and dedication of the officers investigating his crimes and the bravery of his victims whose co-operation enabled us to bring him to justice.

"Such people are not welcome within our organisation, which quite rightly demands the highest levels of propriety and integrity."

After his eventual release he will remain on the sex offenders register permanently.
