An Acton security guard who launched a bloody attack on a motorist and his car following a fracas over a parking space has been jailed for three years.
Moses Richards grabbed a weapon and subjected driver Romeal Williams to a "terrifying" ordeal after an argument in a road which had been blocked off for a film shoot, leaving his victim with a lacerated hand and arm and £1,000 of damage to the car.
Richards, 38, had been in a four-wheel-drive vehicle with other security guards when the confrontation flared up in Alliance Road, Acton, on the evening of August 15 last year.
He admitted attacking Mr Williams and claimed the weapon was a baton - but Isleworth Crown Court heard today how it must have been a knife.
Richards, of New Cross, pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He also admitted driving without insurance or a licence.
Judge Hezlett Colgan said: "The trouble began that evening when you and the victim had an altercation about parking and so on. I don't know whose fault that was. It may have been six of one and half a dozen of the other. There may have been blows exchanged but that could have been the end of it.
"But you went to your car, armed yourself and came back looking for Mr Williams. You opened the door of his car and hit him with the weapon and he suffered lacerations to his hand and arm. You subjected him to what must have been a most terrifying experience and while you were hitting him you damaged his car.
"It must be clear to you," added the judge, "that this sort of offence must result in immediate imprisonment."
Prosecutor Robert Meikle showed CCTV of the incident and said the nature of the injuries and the motion of the attack indicated the use of a knife.
But Andre Jumabhoy, said the weapon was a baton and that was the basis of Richards' guilty plea.
The defendant had a clean record and had worked for years in the security industry, said Mr Jumabhoy, adding: "The job he does puts him in harm's way and he has always managed to restrain himself.
"He knows that what he has done is completely unacceptable."
