A PIMLICO woman is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for charity by taking on one of the UK's toughest walking challenges.
Katarina Schmidtova, 30, of Vincent Street, is taking part in the 15 Peaks Challenge, which covers all 15 peaks in Northern Snowdonia, which are over 3,000ft high.
The challenge requires entrants to walk 30 miles, including more than 14,000 of ascent and descent, with an added sting – the course must be completed within 24 hours.
She and 22 staff from financial firm Liquid Capital, including Cong Yi, 28, from Maida Vale, are hoping to raise £16,000.
The money will go towards HOPEHIV, a charity which supports African orphans and young people affected by HIV and Aids.
The team will start the challenge at 4am on June 27 at Pen-y-Pass at the foot of Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales.
They must reach the uplands of Carneddau by 4am the next day.
