A 28-year-old man has been charged with the murder of an elderly man in West Drayton.

Ahmed Hussein was charged yesterday (Thursday) with the murder of a 79-year-old at house in West Drayton.

He is due to appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court today (May 9).

Police were called at midnight on Thursday, May 8, to a house in West Drayton following reports of a serious assault.  

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and a 79-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating and an incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Matt Bonner.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
