A special community event is to be held to celebrate the completion of the first phase of the £155m Green Man Lane regeneration in West Ealing.

The event, which will feature an exhibition and film about the history of the area and the transformation of the Green Man Lane estate, is taking place on Saturday October 18.

Running from 12 midday to 3pm, the celebration is being held at a brand new community cafe in Chardon House, Singapore Road, West Ealing, which has been built as part of the regeneration.

There will also be free food tasters, live music, activities for children and the chance to speak with those involved in the regeneration.

Organised by local housing provider A2Dominion , which is delivering the regeneration scheme with joint venture partner Rydon, the event will mark the completion of the first 176 homes which have been built as part of the regeneration. It also coincides with the start of phase two of the regeneration, which will deliver a further 187 homes.

Lorna Anderson, A2Dominion’s Director of Customer Services, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating the completion of the first phase of this exciting regeneration project and we hope to see many local people come along on Saturday. As well as high quality new homes, the regeneration is delivering a raft of new community facilities for local people, including the arts and performance café where we’re holding the event, which will open to the public soon. A departure from the traditional community centre, the café will offer great food from local providers as well as entertainment and art exhibitions, helping to bring this growing West Ealing community even closer together.”

The event also presents an opportunity for local people to join two brand-new resident groups at the scheme. The groups will give residents the chance to have their say in how the Green Man Lane estate is managed, what services are provided and what community activities are organised in the future.
