Care home staff gathered to celebrate the 100th birthday of bingo loving Lilly Coldwell at Vicarage Farm nursing home in Hounslow .

A special afternoon tea party fit for a princess was held with family members including her three nieces, and friends from the care home, last Friday (21).

Mayor of Hounslow Sachin Gupta, Hounslow Evangelical Church reverend Andrew Heron and his wife Brenda, and Catherine Jennings from Our Lady Queen Of The Apostles Church, in Heston, also attended the celebrations.

Ms Coldwell wore a tiara to the party and tightly gripped onto her birthday card from The Queen as she blew out the candles on her lavish birthday cake.

She has lived at the nursing home for just over a year and is said to enjoy playing bingo, the odd sing-a-long and dancing.

When the Chronicle asked what she enjoyed the most at her party, she said "I like dancing."

Social therapist, Charlene, said: "She's quite reserved but when it comes to singing she will join in and likes a good old chat. She always wears a smile on her face."
