Commuters travelling from Acton main line station are facing delays after the heatwave caused track temperatures to rocket on Tuesday (July 19).

Trains running between Reading and London have been forced to run at a reduced speed due to the scorching weather.

According to the National Rail website, trains running from Acton Main Line station to Paddington are cancelled until 7.04pm.

Disruption on the line is expected to continue up until 10pm.

Today (July 19) is the hottest day of the year so far with temperatures set to peak at a sweltering 33C due to a mini heatwave.

But the scorching temperatures aren't expected to last long, with the Met Office predicting a maximum temperature of 29C on Wednesday (July 20) and a considerably milder 22C this Thursday (July 21).

The capital is hotter than Majorca today as the UK experiences its hottest day this year.
