West Middlesex Hospital has been rated above average for cleanliness and the quality of food, among a range of other criteria, in a new survey.
The hospital in Isleworth scored 99.47% for cleaning in the Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE), which was above the national average for hospitals of 97.5%.
It was also rated 92.86% for food and hydration, 91.67% for privacy, dignity and well-being, 96.91% for condition, appearance and maintenance, and 79.82% for facilities for people with dementia, all of which were above the national average.
Patients, members of the public and bodies with an interest in healthcare, like the local watchdog Healthwatch Hounslow, were all given a say in the annual assessment of non-clinical services, the results of which were published by the Health and Social Care Information Centre.
Debbie Green, West Mid's associate director of estates and facilities, said: "We are thrilled to see the trust performing well above the national average in these key areas, all of which play a vital role in the patients' experience during their time in hospital. Our teams work very hard all year round and it is great to see that hard work rewarded in this way."
The hospital said the ratings were used as a guide to improving performance so patients could be made more comfortable during their stay.
But it pointed out that the assessment was a voluntary one and the criteria on which it was judged were not official standards for performance.
