Royal Brompton Hospital has been recognised as one of the best places to work in the NHS.

A report that identifies high-performing public sector employers was undertaken jointly by Best Companies Group, an independent research firm that specialises in identifying and recognising the best places to work in the US, Canada and UK, and the Health Service Journal.

The aim of the joint report is to recognise those organisations across the country that are working hardest for their staff.

The organisations were identified using data from the annual NHS staff survey and categories which were analysed include performance in leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications, role satisfaction, work environment, relationship with supervisor, training, development and resources, and employee engagement and satisfaction.

Bob Bell, chief executive of Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, said: “One of the trust’s core values is the belief that our staff should feel valued and proud of their work. By ensuring that we listen to them, involve them in decision making and invest in their career development, we are able to attract and retain the very best.

“If anyone can see us through the challenges that lay ahead in the NHS, it is our dedicated specialist staff, who strive to deliver the best possible care for patients.”
