A fifth teenager arrest has been arrested as detectives continue investigations into the murder of Jamil Palmer in Hanworth.

The fourth and fifth arrests came today (Wednesday) as police arrested a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy today (May 14) on suspicion of murder.

They were both taken to a north London police station for questioning.

Another 15-year-old boy was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Previously, an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old-boy were also arrested, last Tuesday (May 6).

They have both been bailed pending further enquiries and are due to return to the police station in early June.

A murder investigation was launched by detectives from t he Homicide & Major Crime Command, based at Putney, under Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, after the 18-year-old was stabbed to death in Crane Park, near Evans Grove, at about 3.30pm, in Hanworth, on Tuesday, May 6.

Officers continue to appeal for witnesses urging anyone who has not yet come forward to do so, especially anyone protecting those involved,as well as dog walkers or park users who may have seen or heard something.

Jamil's mother has also made a plea for people to tell police what happened.

There have been a spate of stabbings in the borough in broad daylight in a period of three weeks.
