A driver allegedly "ran off" after ploughing into a roundabout in Ruislip, said police.

Their vehicle collided with a roundabout in Western Avenue, which is right by The Polish War Memorial, on Sunday (November 19).

The driver then locked the crumpled vehicle and fled on foot, according to police.

In a tweet, Hillingdon Borough Police said: "Vehicle crashed into the roundabout at the Polish War Memorial.

"The driver locked the car, left it in a dangerous position and ran off."

The wreckage was removed after the crash

Officers removed the vehicle from the scene and cleaned up the debris before launching a search for the driver.

A police spokesman said enquiries are "ongoing" and no arrests have been made yet.

Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact the Metropolitan Police on 101.
