Pavemenets Paddington street will be transformed by a £900,000 revamp.
Praed Street will receive new energy-efficient street lights, pavements will be widened and repaved, and excess signs will be taken down to declutter the area.
The new paving stones will be covered in ‘Magic Cote’ to help protect them from chewing gum and stains.
Work is expected to start on Monday and be completed by December, with future work planned in London Street and Spring Street.
Westminster Council’s cabinet member for environment and transport Cllr Danny Chalkley said: “These works will make a huge difference to the neighbourhood, improving the area for residents out shopping and creating a smart hub for local businesses.
“We want to set the bar high for all future development in Praed Street, so we’re making sure these improvements are of the highest quality.”
