Former England rugby international Paul Hodgson opened Hounslow's newest gym.

The Worcester Warriors scrum-half challenged guests to a series of muscle-burning challenges ahead of the Rugby World Cup as he performed the honours at London's first Xercise4Less gym on Friday August 28.

He took on all-comers in a series of push-up, pull-up and static hold contests at the venue in Staines Road, Hounslow, which used to be home to Gala Bingo.

"As a professional athlete, I know how important it is to stay active and how expensive it can be to do so, especially in London," he said.

"Xercise4Less Hounslow is therefore a fantastic addition to the London gym market, giving everyone full access to affordable fitness.

"It's been great spending the morning with the staff and members who are obviously just as passionate about sport as I am and I wish them every success."

Membership prices at Xercise4Less Hounslow start at £9.99 a month. For more information visit www.xercise4less.co.uk.
