A derelict site in Hayes will be redeveloped to attract new jobs and companies to the borough.

Prologis will build its first small-unit scheme in the UK at Prologis Dawley Road, which will deliver a total of 120,420sq-ft in six buildings ranging in size from 2,870sq-ft to 52,540sq-ft.

Paul Weston, senior vice president at Prologis UK, said: “Prologis Dawley Road is a well-located site in an established industrial area and the new scheme is already attracting interest from expanding local companies as well as from national and international organisations.”

The development at Dawley Road builds on the success of Prologis Park Heathrow, on Stockley Road in Hayes.

Adelie Foods and Gate Gourmet, which already occupies a 69,000sq-ft building on the park and is expanding its operations in Hayes, have moved there.

Mr Weston added: “The site [at Dawley Road] has been derelict for around 10 years, so we are delighted to have the opportunity to bring it back into use and to attract new jobs for Hillingdon.”

The announcement that Prologis will speculatively develop more than 1.2m sq-ft in five distribution centres and across its first small-unit scheme in four prime UK logistics markets came on August 6.

The company has also submitted a planning application to create a further two units in Hayes, at Prologis Park West London (formerly Stockley Park Phase 3).
