What happens if you're the voice of Siri and can't find the answer you're being asked?

For Jon Briggs, whose dulcet tones enlightens millions of iPhone users each day, the solution came courtesy of a mother-of-two, who lives in Isleworth .

Voice-over artist Rachael Naylor started The VoiceOver Network - a unique association supporting others in her field and helping them build contacts - just over a year ago.

While you may not recognise many of its members by name or face, they're bound to sound familiar from their work on adverts, films and TV shows, or - like Jon - mobile phones.

Rachael herself is probably most recognisable, depending on your age, for narrating three One Direction films or being the voice of Virgin Media and Olay.

The 34-year-old has been short-listed for a national award for founding the networking business, believed to be the first of its kind within the industry.

"The voice-over industry's booming"

Her company is in the running to be named micro business of the year in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, the winners of which are due to be announced at a ceremony on London's South Bank next Wednesday (November 25).

"It's been an amazing year and a very busy one, having relaunched the network and had my second daughter" she said.

"The voice-over industry's booming and it's important to have somewhere people can come and network and get help and advice.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to have been nominated for this award, which is testament to the passion, enthusiasm and support of each of our members."

Since relaunching in January, The VoiceOver Network has grown to include over 150 members from as far afield as Australia and the USA, and it now has 10 worldwide partner companies.

Rachael has achieved her success while juggling the demands of the business with her own voice-over work and bringing up her daughters Lily, four, and Scarlett, aged just three months.

The business links up members of what she has described as the "loneliest profession", enabling them to share tips on everything from recording studios to preserving their voice boxes.

It also organises social events, like the upcoming Great Gatsby-themed Christmas bash, and visits and workshops by leading voice-over artists, including the voices of The X Factor and Big Brother.
