The State Bank of India is set to open only its 11th UK branch in Hounslow.

Work on the new bank in High Street, Hounslow, is already under way and it is due to open later this summer.

The bank already has branches in Harrow and Golders Green, as well as the City of London, and is also due to open another in Ilford, north-east London, this summer.

Anil Arora, head of marketing and business development at State Bank of India UK, said the openings were part of its ambition to expand its network of UK branches.

"SBI UK is delighted to be opening its latest branch in Hounslow, which will open as soon as the building works are completed later this summer," he added.

The bank offers the usual range of savings accounts and mortgages, along with safety deposit box facilities. It also enables customers with Indian roots to transfer money to their loved ones back home.
