Harrow businesswoman Maria Lola Edun has created a company that prevents new businesses from failing... And she needs your vote to make her idea a reality!
She has entered her idea into Virgin Business' Pitch to Rich scheme, which allows entrepreneurs and new businesses to pitch their idea for a chance to meet and work with Richard Branson himself.
The idea is simple: instead of entering into expensive business memberships, users of her company Barter Entrepreneur can swap and "barter" for skills, without having to exchange money, helping businesses to grow and network without wasting time or money.
Edun said: "I was struggling to find the right people to work with in my previous business, as well as keep my costs low - since I was just starting out.
"My inspiration for Barter Entrepreneur came in the middle of the night whilst pondering how I was going to keep my business afloat."
Edun said: "London is my home and is filled with so many opportunities to make something out of yourself.
"I believe there is room for everyone to make it somehow. It might happen in the way we hope or wish but with enough persistence and vision, dreams can come true."
The aim of Ms Edun's business plan is to bring the number of failing businesses down with a bartering system, and to support new entrepreneurs.
Edun said: "If I won Pitch to Rich 2015, this would be an amazing opportunity for my business to help bring change in our society and promote entrepreneurship in the UK.
"One in three businesses fail within the first three years and it is my hope that with Barter Entrepreneur I can bring that statistic from three down to two."
