The Queen's Terminal is filling up and four more carriers completed the move this week.

Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish and SWISS relocated to Heathrow's new Terminal 2 building yesterday (15).

Excited staff at all four airlines made the grand change from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, with arriving and departing passengers getting their first glimpse of the new £11 billion building.

Opened in the spring and inaugurated by Queen Elizabeth , the £11 billion terminal will house the 23 Star Alliance members.

Peter Cornillie, vice president of ground operations at Brussels Airlines, said: “Our move to the Queen’s Terminal is a big quality improvement for our passenger.

"In the past, passengers had to walk long distances, ride escalators up and down, and peak hours could get very busy, causing long queues.

"The new Queen’s Terminal has been designed with passengers’ needs in mind, and there will not be such issues anymore.”

Having all alliance members under the same roof will allow for seamless travel particularly for passengers making flight conenctions.

The remaining four carriers - Air New Zealand, Asiana Airlines, South African Airways and TAP Portugal - are due to move on October 22.
