Just one in five of us are convinced that we're living life to the full - but there's a list of ways you can make your time on Earth count.

Swimming with sharks? Playing roulette in Monte Carlo? These may sound like activities far away from your dreary desk on a Monday in the UK, but the truth is that they're on the list of ways we can all get the most out of life.

Researchers have found that, although half of us claim to possess a zest for life, the reality is the majority of us long for more excitement.

The study examined the lifestyles and aspirations of almost 2,000 British adults and revealed 39 ultimate life fulfilling experiences, which include flying on a private jet, partying on a super yacht - and dating a model.

As a nation, the research found that 44% of us claimed to be 'adventurous'.

But apparently we actually lack the time, money or courage to try new things, with around a quarter of us believe adventure is out of reach.

According to the list, living life to the full includes learning to survive in the wild, skinny dipping, travelling to watch a World Cup Final, competing in a Tough Mudder challenge, and being an extra in a film.

Getting married was also on the list - but not a traditional white wedding...

Driving across the U.S on Route 66 was also deemed worth doing, as was taking in the view from the Empire State Building in New York City.

Crossing the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, learning to ski or snowboard and learning to fly a plane also made the list.

Learning a foreign language and getting a tattoo are things you should experience too, according to the results of the study.

Of those surveyed, a rather sad seven in 10 said if they had their time again they would be more ‘reckless’ when it came to seeking fun and adventure.

While a plucky one in seven said they embarked on adventures as often possible, one in four admitted they NEVER try anything exciting.

More than half of those who took part in the study said they were envious of people who seemingly live exciting lives.

Furthermore the data also revealed that most of us re-assess what we are doing with our lives at the age of 32.

Bungee jumping comes in at number 11

Damien Dally for Jeep Renegade who commissioned the report, said: “Just 18% of Brits feel that they are living life to the full, and with two thirds claiming that they would be more reckless in life if they had their time again, we’re at risk of a life full of regrets.

“Whilst many of us will never become a millionaire, that needn’t prevent us living a fulfilled life, brimming with adventure. It’s about having the inclination and desire to do something out of our comfort zone that will ensure we don’t look back and wish we had lived life differently."
