A couple are proving diamonds are forever by celebrating their golden wedding anniversary this weekend.

Peter Wallace, who worked on James Bond films at Pinewood Studios for most of his life, put the gold on the finger of Josie Marriott 50 years ago on Saturday.

Mr Wallace was brought up in Rockingham Road, Uxbridge, and his wife was raised in the Larches, Hillingdon, before marrying at St John's Church in Royal Lane in 1959.

Carrying on the family tradition, their daughter Debbie married at the very same church, 46 years later.

Josie, who was just 16 when she married Peter, worked at the Blue Dragon in Hillingdon and at Sandersons Fabrics in Uxbridge before the pair retired and moved out of the borough.

At their new home in Dorset, they still have photos of Hillingdon Hill and The Swan and Bottle hanging on the wall to remind them of Uxbridge.
