Chloe Othen has rubbed shoulders with A-list celebrities over the years through her work as a model.

Now, she is hoping to become a star in her own right after being named a finalist on Miss Universe GB.

The 24-year-old, who works in Mayfair, Westminster, is one of 40 women taking part in next month's show, which also features Fulham nutritionist Ella Davison.

Miss Othen has been modelling for seven years and has represented brands such as Breitling alongside John Travolta and David Beckham.

Now she has made it to the final, she has designs on winning the event.

Chloe Othen is taking part in June's Miss Universe GB competition

She said: “Miss Universe is one of the largest pageants in the world and I think it is going to be a huge adventure as well as a lot of fun. I believe I possess the qualities to be Miss Universe GB.

“I am hard-working, dedicated, experienced, ambitious and loyal. I enjoy meeting people from different walks of life, cultures and being able to explore the world and what it has to offer.

“I will do everything possible to make Great Britain proud of me and will wear the title with great pride. Not only do I feel I have the qualities to manage the pressure of such a title, it will also mean absolutely everything to me to become Miss Universe GB.”

As part of the competition, contestants have to raise money for the Strongbones Charity. Miss Othen will do this by participating in a series of 'forfeits' which could see her eat a spoonful of English mustard, pour a bucket of freezing cold water over her head, go to work in her pyjamas, down a shot of tabasco sauce and much more.

A public vote is also taking place ahead of national finals, which will give contestants a head start before they face judges, and help in the event of a tie-break.

The three-day competition takes place in Wales in June.
