If you feel it’s time you enjoyed the splendour of a wedding reception but no invitation is dropping on your doormat, then think about treating yourself to afternoon tea at Great Fosters. On Sunday April 13, this magnificent hotel is the venue for an afternoon tea in aid of Hounslow Animal Welfare Society (HAWS).

A similar tea last year was a sell-out with the venue being set out as beautifully as a wedding reception and all guests having a named place. If you don’t want to miss this special occasion set in a 14th get your ticket in advance (£25 each) from www.haws-animals.org.uk . The hotel is at Stroude Road, Egham TW20 9UR.

Last year, many of HAWS wonderful network of foster carers were there. If you would like to be part of this community, more foster carers are needed. HAWS have just taken into their care three pregnant mums so there will soon be at least three sets of mums and kittens needing care. If your children want a kitten but you think they may lose interest or you do not know where you will be in a few months time, then fostering may be for you (children must be over four years).

Being a foster carer can be ideal if you want the joy of looking after a cat but have no garden. All you need is a room and the desire to give the animal love and attention. HAWS also need fosterers for rabbits and guinea pigs. It is ideal if fosterers can pay for daily needs but HAWS can help with equipment and fund veterinary treatment.

Pishow is currently in foster care with HAWS. He is an extremely handsome 1 year old cat who urgently needs to find a home of his own. He is a friendly, confident boy who is playful and inquisitive. He loves affection and is happy to curl up on your lap. If you can offer this delightful boy a loving home, call 020 8560 5443 or visit www.haws-animals.org.uk .
