Walking is usually considered a healthy hobby - but ramblers treading the Thames Path may find they can't help but stop for a pint at this pub.

The Town Wharf is situated right on the river and the Thames Path actually passes right through the pub.

Deputy manager Nicky Gillmore said: "It's so gorgeous to have a drink on the decking in the summer, as it has lovely river views. It's directly opposite Isleworth Ait, where a giant endangered snail lives.

"Its a lovely place to work."

The pub is well known for its Wednesday night quiz evening. Nicky said: "The quizmaster has done over 500 for us, so he really knows what he is doing. The regulars love it."

As part of the Samuel Smiths chain, the pub only sells its own brand of beer, spirits and mixers and also does a popular carvery on a Sunday.
