Halloween is a good excuse to get all of your friends together for a fun-filled party.

And what's a party without some delicious drinks?

So here are 10 of the best Halloween-themed cocktails to serve this October 31:

1. Bloody Orange Cocktail

Using plastic syringes filled with raspberry syrup, these cocktails will terrify your guests.

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces vodka
  • 2 ounces licor43
  • 8 ounces Orangina, or 1:3 orange juice to club soda
  • 3 ounces raspberry syrup
  • Plastic syringes (available to buy at party stores)

Puree 2 cups of raspberries in a food processor, heat them gently in a saucepan and add sugar to make the raspberry syrup. Fill each syringe with 0.75 ounces of the syrup.

Shake the vodka and Licor43 together with ice, then add Orangina.

Place the 'blood' filled syringes into the drink, add a slice of orange onto the side and serve.

Serves 4.

2. Vampire Punch

Give your cocktails some bite.

Ingredients:

  • 1⁄4 cup sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup Campari
  • 1⁄2 cup gin
  • 1⁄2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 3 cups chilled club soda
  • 1⁄2 cup Pomegranate seeds
  • 1, orange, cut into thin slices

Mix the sugar and half a cup of water into a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved, then let it cool.

Mix the Campari, gin, and orange juice into a jug or punch bowl and chill them for up to 12 hours. Just before serving, add the club soda, pomegranate seeds and orange, then serve over ice.

Serves 6­8.

3. Morgue­Er­Rita

A spooky take on an old classic

Ingredients:

  • 1⁄2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup club soda
  • 3⁄4 cup tequila
  • 3 ounces triple sec
  • 4 cherries
  • 4 teaspoons of maraschino cherry syrup

To make the goo to go on top you will need a 1⁄4 cup of light corn syrup and green food colouring.

Mix the corn syrup with the green food dye. Frost the glasses by putting them in the freezer, then dip them in the green corn syrup and return to the freezer to set.

Shake the lime juice, tequila and triple sec in a cocktail shaker with ice until very cold.

Add a teaspoon of maraschino cherry syrup to the bottom of each glass, then add a cherry and stirrer to each.

Pour the margarita mixture in slowly to avoid disturbing the cherry syrup.

Add the club soda and serve immediately

Serves 4.

4. Black Devil Martini

A simple, stylish and spooky drink.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. dark rum
  • 1⁄2 oz. dry vermouth
  • Black olives
  • Orange sugar

Rim a martini glass with orange sugar, then stir the rum and vermouth together and strain them into the glass. Garnish with black olives.

Serves 1.

5. Witch's Brew Cocktail

A potion for a successful Halloween gathering. Fun for the whole family/coven.

Ingredients:

  • A 6 ounce package of lime gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 3 cups chilled pineapple juice
  • 2 litres lemon/lime flavoured fizzy drink or ginger ale
  • 2 cups chilled vodka

Pour the lime gelatin mix into a large bowl and slowly stir in the boiling water.

Stir in the pineapple juice, the 2 litres of lemon and lime or ginger ale and the vodka.

Allow it to cool to room temperature.

Serves 12­-16.

6. Dracula's Blood

The chosen beverage of the Count himself.

Ingredients:

  • 2 fluid ounces vodka
  • 3⁄4 fluid ounces peach schnapps
  • 3­4 fluid ounces cranberry juice

Simply shake the ingredients together with ice and pour into a tall glass.

Serves 1.

7. Green Goblin

Spider­ Man's least favourite cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1 ounce coconut rum
  • 1 ounce peach schnapps
  • 1 ounce sour apple liqueur

Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake with ice cubes. Pour over ice and serve with a lime wedge.

8. Rotting Pumpkin Martini

It's nicer than it sounds.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce peach schnapps
  • 1 and a 1⁄2 to 2 ounces cranberry juice
  • 1 ounce blavod black vodka

Mix the peach schnapps and vodka into a cocktail shaker with ice.

Shake well and stir into a cocktail glass.

Using the back of the spoon, carefully pour the blavod black vodka so that it rests on top.

9. Black Magic Cocktail

A drink for all servants of the Dark Arts

Ingredients:

  • 1⁄4 cup ice
  • 1⁄2 cup orange juice
  • 1 and a 1⁄2 ounces black vodka
  • 1⁄2 ounce triple sec

Stir the ice, orange juice and black vodka and shake in a cocktail shaker then strain into a glass.

Pour black vodka slowly into a glass so that it rests on top.

Dip an orange wedge into the vodka, then rest it on the side of the glass.

10. Bat's Nest

The Bat's Nest created by Ping Pong Dim Sum

Ingredients:

  • 15ml Triple Sec
  • 20ml Fresh Lime juice
  • 50ml fresh pineapple juice
  • 7.5ml keffir lime gomme (or simple syrup)

Infusion:

  • Combine the roasted pineapple + 250ml Bacardi Carta Fuego + 25ml Mescal into a jar, seal and shake for 15 seconds.
  • Let sit at room temperature for 24 hours. Sieve it through and keep the infusion in the fridge for 30 days.

Pineapple Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees.


Cut ½ pineapple into a cube dice (2cm each cubes) and place them on a baking sheet. Roast for one hour (or until slightly browned).

Let cool.

Build the cocktail directly into the Tennessee Jar

Put all the ingredients into the jar

Add some ice cubes

Top up with crushed ice

Place the candy floss on the top with the jelly bat

Serve with 2 straws
