The Bell and Crown in Chiswick is a favourite among locals and even attracts luminaries such as TV legends and W4 residents Ant and Dec.

It may not have regular live music or a quiz night but, according to barman Russell Bradley, the sight of sunlight dancing on the Thames provides more than enough entertainment.

Founded in the early 19th century, but rebuilt in 1907, the pub is currently owned by Frank and Jeraldine McBrearty.
It is known among residents and remembered by tourists for its view of the river and friendly atmosphere.

"It's a very warm place," said Russell. "An evening spent here is like an evening among friends. Even if you've never been to the area before, you'll feel like a native by the time you leave."

The Bell and Crown emphasises the family friendly aspect of its appeal, and includes every member, including pets.
