I must start this article in honour of the Sex and the City film, which is due to hit cinemas very soon, as Miss Bradshaw and the girls have gloriously created a complete catwalk show on screen.

The iconic cast, obsessively imitated by many, are showcasing enviable looks in the freshest prints – we should catch up quick!

When you think of prints, erase the idea of your old 80s cringe-worthy hand-me-downs and replace it with something far more fashion-forward and contemporary.

I am referring to tribal, animal, floral, safari and even wallpaper prints! Yes, it sounds ridiculous but wallpaper is in fact the most recent ‘in’ print and exudes vintage-esque glamour.

Designers have gone print crazy this season so there should be no excuse for prints not being a staple feature in your spring wardrobe.

They are all about being bold in reference to style, so do not be afraid to experiment with cuts, shapes and colours.

The types of looks you can create with these print collections are varied. For example you may want a very urban chic look with the tribal prints or an aristocratic antique look with wallpaper prints. Even those of you who are less fashion savvy can find key pieces that are not so daring, such as a silk scarf or clutch bag.

When wearing prints it is all about creating a fun, bold, yet very ladylike image!

A few tips about wearing prints

Dare to be bold!

* Be careful of printed tops with volume as they disguise your figure so invest in a waist-clinching belt.

* Do not wear multiple prints in one outfit – too busy!

* The busier the print, the more neutral your make-up and accessories should be.
