Adam, who is now the front man of rock band Lost Lady Luck, said: ''Obviously [I'm] excited and nervous at the same time.

"Nervous because I don't know what to expect, I have never done anything like this before.

"Excited because of the opportunity it gives me, to help others, raise awareness for my chosen charities and make the Mr England status a proud one."

Candidates were whittled down from photographs and judges interviewed the top three contenders.

Adam was described as a Mr England finalist as "he partakes in charity work, which is very important, and also has a great look and personality".

He will go head-to-head with 19 other finalists from across the country in the final this summer.

Dad Gerry added: "Having spent most of my life in west London and playing for London teams QPR, Crystal Palace and managing London teams Tottenham Hotspurs and QPR, I am really proud to see Adam represent London in the Mr England national finals."
