Budget supermarket Lidl has launched a website to outline its plans for a new store in South Ruislip, and you have one week left to have your say.

The supermarket chain has applied to the council to demolish vacant building Imperial House in Victoria Road, South Ruislip, previously used as a car showroom and workshop.

Its plan to build on the site next to Bensons for Beds and the former Comet has yet to be given to the council's planning department, but includes building a new single storey Lidl with a 1 hour free 105 space car park, new vehicle access from Stonefield Way to Victoria Road and cycle parking.

A spokesman for the store said: "The website forms part of our public consultation exercise for the proposed store at South Ruislip. We have carried out a mail shot targeting those residents living within the catchment area for the proposed store. We kindly request that the enclosed response forms are sent back to Lidl no later than Wednesday, November 20."

Lidl opened a new store in Cowley Road, Uxbridge in March this year, and have another planning application to build on a site in Hayes Town Centre.

Lidl's spokesman said: "Lidl are currently looking to acquire new sites across London. There is no particular focus on Hillingdon but it has been an active year for us with regard this particular borough."
