Children were treated to a special visit from a culinary expert.

Lawrence Keogh, head chef at the prestigious Wolseley Restaurant in Piccadilly in London stopped by Harrow High School in Gayton Road, Harrow, on Wednesday to give eager Year 9 and 10 students a workshop in preparing exquisite food.

Mr Keogh attended the school as a part of the Chefs Adopt A School scheme to teach the children where food comes from, how it is grown and how to cook it.

Pupils prepared a delicious menu, starting with butternut pumpkin soup with lime and coriander.

For mains the children cooked up parmesan chicken escalope with lemon cream and cherry vine tomatoes and to round it off for desert, they made an autumn fruit crumble with custard.

Community development officer at Harrow High School, Laura Morrison, said: “Everyone enjoyed the amazing experience and the food was fabulous.

“The morning such a success and we look forward to Mr Keogh returning in the near future.

“Watch out for future master chefs from Harrow High School.”
