Since securing a spot in one of London's most sought after locations - the King's Road - A Wanted Man sells itself as Chelsea's first espresso canteen with a brow bar and waxing salon attached.

But since I had no interest in waxing any time soon (I hope), I decided to stick to trying some of the food and drinks on offer.

It's a nice little cafe to be in, with stylish materials and a brand new feel to it, but it is awkwardly congested, so be prepared to keep those elbows in check.

With an interesting and hipster-but-not-too-hipster kind of menu, I followed the recommendation of staff and chose A Wanted Man Breakfast (£12).

A very good offering, with salmon on toast along with scrambled eggs, potatoes and greens.

A Wanted Man Breakfast

Though the bread is rock hard (I shook the table trying to cut it), overall it's a scrummy dish to take you into an afternoon and well worth opting for.

My friend Amita chose the Sourdough Waffle (£6.50), a sweet dish comprising of jam, peanut cream and candied peacans - a terrifically good dish at a surprisingly low price.

From the "wild west" to the "cultured east", A Wanted Man has certainly made efforts to separate itself from the standard cafe offerings it rivals.

And this is certainly highlighted in its drinks menu.

I chose the Immune Booster (£4.50), which combined apple, pear and sweet potato. A refreshing beverage perfect to wash away a hangover, even it it's overpriced for its size.

Meanwhile Amita chose the Green Velvet (£5.50), blending pear, apple, spinach and kale which, true to its promise, hits you like a refreshing splash of water on a summers day.

And the coffee, flown in for a Singapore-based coffee roaster, does little to disappoint either and offers more flavour than the usual coffee, which I'm amazed Britain isn't bored of yet (Starbucks, I'm looking at you).

The verdict

Quaint, tasty and something different from the wildly over-rated coffee chains Brits swarm to, A Wanted Man is a lovely afternoon experience with good food and great coffee.
