An Uxbridge paedophile who kept images of people performing oral sex on animals including a llama, horse and a sheep has avoided jail.

Kevin Castle, of Whitehall Road, Uxbridge, was charged with six counts of making indecent images of children, two counts of possessing indecent images of children, one count of possessing extreme graphic images and one allowed to lie on the file.

The 50-year-old had pleaded guilty to all charges, which were made against him on June 5 2014.

At Isleworth Crown Court on Friday (January 22), Ravinder Johal, prosecuting, told of how Castle kept images on his computer of people performing oral sex on a horse, sheep and llama.

The former refuse collector, who had resigned from his position, was given a sentence of 18 months, reduced to 12 months, suspended for two years.

Judge John Denniss also ordered Castle, who is in crippling debt, to carry out 100 hours of community service.

A 12-month supervision order was made and his computer will be destroyed within 28 days.

Castle was also placed on the sexual offenders register for 10 years, which includes a sexual harm prevention order.

He was also barred from working with children.

Before sentencing, Judge Denniss said he considered the impact a jail term would have on his ill and elderly mother, for whom Castle is a carer.

He also said that because he had not viewed any images since 2012, had no previous convictions, had pleaded guilty and had shown remorse he would be spared jail.

The judge said: "I can consider what is the appropriate sentence because of the needs she has from you (his mother).

"What I do take into account is you have pleaded guilty and you have clearly expressed strong remorse for what you have done and you have no previous convictions.

"I do find that there is a low risk of re-offending."
