Teenagers are being urged not to smoke, with an MP lending his political muscle to a new campaign.

Bob Blackman, Conservative MP for Harrow East, has added his support to a new initiative from the Lions Clubs International charity called ‘Up In Smoke', an education resource for those working with 11 to 16-year-old teenagers.

Mr Blackman is the All Party Parliamentary Group for Smoking and Health and has campaigned for the introduction of standardised packaging, and wants as many young people as possible to engage in the 'Up In Smoke' campaign which offers educational information on demand.

He said: "I am pleased that Lions Clubs International have started this new campaign. Reactions to it so far have been very positive and I believe it will play an important part in the ongoing fight against smoking related health issues.”
