A teenager accused of murdering Ealing schoolboy Usaama Ali pleaded not guilty at the Old Bailey on Friday (January 22).

The 16-year-old, from Catford, who cannot be named for legal reasons, stands charged with a single count of murder.

He appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday (January 22) and will go on trial there on April 18.

Usaama died on October 16 after Met Police were called to Crown Street, Acton, at 11.50am, following reports of a stabbing.

He was taken to a central London hospital by paramedics where he was later pronounced dead.

Acton High School, where Usaama was formerly a pupil, spoke of their "sadness" after his death.
