This is the moment police stop to watch a gigantic RAF Northolt jet fly over them in what they described as a "close encounter".

Inspector Rob Bryan, the neighbourhood inspector for Hillingdon North, said on Twitter on Monday (April 18) that officers had stopped traffic near RAF Northolt the previous weekend.

Officers stopped the traffic, near the RAF Northolt base in West End Road, Ruislip , to allow the colossal jet to fly just a short height above them.

Inspector Byran posted a video where the deafening noise of the jet engines can be heard as the plan comes in to land.

The inspector tweeted: "A close encounter for my officers at @RAFNortholt at the weekend, stopping traffic for this beast."

RAF Northolt has confirmed the plane does not belong to it.
