Charitable and gifted children took to the stage to raise money for Children in Need.

Students at Aylward Primary School, in Pangbourne Drive, Stanmore, took part in a talent show in which a panel of judges sized up their performances, eventually selecting 10-year-old Mason Bailey as the winner, and Noah Booth, six, the runner up.

In a bid to raise as much money for the charity as possible, children participated in a cake sale earlier in the day before taking to the stage.

Pupils even recreated Children In Need mascot Pudsey Bear who will be visiting them soon, dressing him in their school uniforms.

Year five teacher Lisa Kendall said: “The school always does something for charity but the talent show was a bit different. We held auditions and over 100 children wanted to be involved but we had to narrow it down to 12 which was difficult. It was really fun and the children really enjoyed it.”
