The vulnerable and elderly of Harrow enjoyed a traditional Christmas lunch thanks to the council’s Meals on Wheels service.

Bernard Glanville, a regular Meals on Wheels user, was one of the recipients of the festive lunch, delivered with all the trimmings and pudding.

Mr Glanville said: “The meals are an absolute cracker, I really appreciate the service that the council provides, the drivers always arrive on time and with a smile on their face and it makes my day, I’m happy being looked after by people who care and I welcome their friendship.

“I think the service is excellent and I rely on it all year round”.

The regular Meals on Wheels staff were joined by Tory Councillor and deputy leader of Harrow Council Barry Macleod-Cullinane when they delivered meals to some of the borough’s most frail and lonely on Christmas Day.

He said:  “I’m extremely proud of our Meals on Wheels team for their hard work and amazing dedication. Every Christmas they help bring some festive joy into people’s homes."
