An MP has been reselected to defend his parliamentary seat in the 2015 general election.

Labour's Harrow West MP Gareth Thomas was reselected by the Labour Party this week to contest his constituency against Tory candidate Hannah David.

Mr Thomas said: “I am delighted to have been reselected as the Labour Party candidate for Harrow West. I was born and brought up in Harrow and it’s a real privilege to represent my home area in parliament.”

During the last Labour government Mr Thomas was a minister for trade and international development. While in opposition he has served as shadow higher education minister and shadow charities minister, and he is currently serving as shadow minister for Europe.
