Residents have been urged to get along and take part in a clean-up of several spots in Ealing as part of a national Clean for the Queen initiative.

People are set to get together on Saturday (March 5) to clean different areas of Ealing as part of the initiative which aims to clean the country in time for the Queen's 90th birthday.

Interested residents can meet at 10am at South Ealing station to clean along and behind South Ealing Road.

Then, at midday, people will meet at Northfields Station to clean along and behind Northfields Avenue and Blondin Park.

And finally at 2.30pm, residents interested in cleaning along and behind Boston Parade can meet at Boston Manor Station.

Northfields Councillor, David Millican, said: "Clean for the Queen is a national initiative to clean up the country ready for the Queen’s 90th Birthday and we’re so pleased to take part here in Northfields.

"We’ll be spring-cleaning the regular grot spots across our neighbourhood and we hope that members of the local community will join us on the day.

"Gloves, sacks, hi-vis jackets will all be provided and we’ve arranged for the council to remove all we collect.

"Let’s have fun spring-cleaning the area on Saturday."
