A deputy head teacher from a Catholic school in Ealing charged with possession of extreme porn and making indecent images of children has appeared in court.

Peter William Allott, the deputy headteacher at St Benedict's School, Eaton Rise, was arrested by officers from the National Crime Agency(NCA)and Met police in Ealing on Monday (December 7).

According to NCA, the 36-year-old was charged on Tuesday (December 8) with offences of possessing, showing and making indecent images of children of Category A.

He was also charged with two offences of possession of extreme pornography.

The former Tory councillor, who served on the Perivale ward from 2006 to 2010, appeared at Ealing Magistrates Court on Wednesday (December 9) and will stand trial at Blackfriars Crown Court on December 23.

A spokesperson from St Benedict's, a private day school, said: "We can confirm that Peter Allott, the deputy headmaster of St Benedict’s, was arrested by officers from the National Crime Agency yesterday morning (December 7) and has now been charged with a number of criminal offences.

"We are not prepared to confirm any further details of this arrest.

"As a result of these charges Mr Allott will be suspended from his duties and instructed to avoid contact with anyone from the school."

He has been remanded in custody.
