A COURAGEOUS little girl has had her long blond hair lopped off for charity.

On Monday June 16, 8-year-old Alice Moors from Mayfield Primary School cut her long plait off to send to The Little Princess Trust.

The Trust makes wigs for children who have lost their hair and is the same charity that Jesse J shaved her head for last year.

Alice and her mum found out about the charity through a friend who’d heard about the good work they do.

Alice, who has never had her hair short before said: “I am happy to lose just some of my hair for children who have none at all. I really like my new haircut but it’s a bit cold around my neck!"

Alice’s mum, Tracy Moors, a teacher at Mayfield said “I’m so proud of Alice, she has done such a thoughtful and kind thing."

Mrs Belinda Ewart, Head Teacher at Mayfield said: "Alice has done something incredibly brave and generous and what a fantastic role model she is. We all think she’s fabulous!”
