Avanti Schools Trust announced today that the land in Wemborough Road, Stanmore, has been identified as a potential site for the Avanti House secondary school, which would be two miles from Avanti’s two other Harrow sites.
After being visited by the education assessment authority in June the school was deemed to require improvement following an inspection which highlighted concerns including failures by staff and governors to rigorously measure the school's performance.
Stanmore is characterised by numerous small restaurants and cafés, several pubs and boutique-style clothing stores. The extensive residential areas are leafy and predominantly affluent, with many residents commuting to jobs in London.
